Ljubljanica

Ljubljanica is the river that flows through Ljubljana and hence gives its name to the city. There are a number of bridges crossing this beautiful river, most of them near the city center. The famous Slovene architect Joze Plecnik had designed three bridges (more on Plecnik's architectural marvels in another post), popularly called 'triple bridges' on the river at the city center.
Another famous bridge on this river is called Dragon bridge (It has four dragons on either side of the bridge. These are the dragons one usually sees on the tourist fliers and became synonymous with the city's name and culture).
But I personally like the bridges on the upstream where the river is wider and are relatively less crowded with beautiful views of trees lining up the banks.
The above picture is a relatively small bridge towards the upstream albeit with beautiful views.

A night view of restaurants and cafes lined up on both the banks of the river.

Another view of the river near the upstream during summer. Some more pics coming soon... :)
